ANU class 1.9.11

Below is the reference photo we used for the 1.9.11 class.  It is early morning with the sun coming through the trees.

The drawing tries to create a variety of poses for the small gum trees.  The first washes create warm sunshine to the right with warm ground underwashes.

Distant tree masses painted with the colour emphasising the sunlit parts. 

A simple wash creates the bridge rails and shadowed hollow of the stream gulley.

Second wash indicates the showed ground under the bridge.

Mixture of cool and warms provides the gum tree shadowed sides.

Finish with stabs of darks to create leaves, tree marks and ground litter. Bright colour for close ground areas and some primary reds on the bark.
